Bingham had a tough first game against Alta. Typically Bingham, Riverton, Alta and Brighton are the teams to beat in the conference. After a scoreless first quarter Bingham was able to get in the end zone on a reverse to Keaton Cook. Cook made a great cut up the field and outran the Alta defenders to the end zone. After a failed extra point the score was 6-0 at halftime. Bingham's defense was excellent and did not allow anything to get around the ends. The second half Bingham started to wear down Alta and moved the ball on offense a lot better. A long drive was capped off with a 1 yard touchdown run by Hunter Eyre. Dalton Miller had some great blocks on the drive to help the running game. Miller also intercepted a pass in the fourth quarter which was returned to the 20 yard line. The offensive and defensive lines controlled the entire game and made it very difficult for Alta to get anything positive going. The Bingham players had practiced 5 weeks getting ready for this game and they stepped up to the challenge. This was a great first win of the season and put Bingham in the lead to the championship. Next up is Viewmont who beat West Jordan.
